My Perspective

Wooden Bridge 3

At Magnolia Creek, our goal is to meet the needs of every client who walks through our door. In order to make sure that we’re accomplishing that goal, we perform regular self-assessments, including statistical analyses. Because I’m a little bit of a nerd, I always enjoy this particular part of my job. I was particularly excited when I calculated the results for this quarter, because our staff is doing an absolutely amazing job.

For the analyses that I do, I compare assessments clients complete at admission to their responses on those same assessments completed at discharge. After I ran the statistics this quarter, the results showed that, after completed our program, clients displayed significant improvement across a wide range of categories.

After graduating our program, clients report less body dissatisfaction, higher self-esteem, and fewer emotional problems, including less depression and anxiety. They also felt more secure in their interpersonal interactions, exhibited less perfectionism and over-control, and felt like more effective individuals. Graduated clients also exhibited a better ability to respond to feelings of hunger and fullness and displayed better overall psychological adjustment.

I’m so proud to be working with a talented, committed group of people who pour so much of themselves into helping our clients live better lives, free of the bonds of their eating disorders. Can’t wait to see what our staff continues to do in the future!
