Co-occurring Conditions
Magnolia Creek treats eating disorders alongside co-occurring mental health and substance use issues with integrated, specialized care.
Treatment for co-occurring conditions at Magnolia Creek
Magnolia Creek is dually licensed to treat both primary eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. Our expert clinical team delivers integrated care with a whole-person, evidence-based approach to treatment. We identify and address the full range of contributing factors — whether rooted in trauma, mental health issues, or substance use. Each client receives personalized support through individual therapy, medical and psychiatric care, and therapeutic interventions that promote emotional regulation, self-worth, and lasting change.
About co-occurring disorders
- Research shows that between 55% and 95% of individuals with an eating disorder are also diagnosed with at least one other psychiatric condition — a combination referred to as dual diagnosis
- Substance use disorders are common among individuals with eating disorders — about 50% of women with eating disorders also face challenges with addiction.
- An estimated 56.2% of individuals with anorexia nervosa, 94.5% with bulimia nervosa, and 78.9% with binge eating disorder (BED) also meet the criteria for at least one additional mental health condition.
- Approximately 10,200 deaths occur each year as a direct result of eating disorders, equating to one life lost every 52 minutes.
